Overview
Complete external inspection of a Gulf of Mexico offshore platform using thermal and visual drones, replacing traditional rope-access inspections and reducing inspection time by 70%.
Project Background
An energy company needed to inspect the structural integrity of a platform deck, flare towers, and subsea risers while minimizing operational downtime and eliminating rope-access safety risks.
Results
Completed a 5-day inspection that previously required 18 days of rope-access work. Identified 3 areas of advanced corrosion and 1 structural crack requiring urgent repair, preventing a potential safety incident.
