Overview
Rapid aerial assessment of red tide and algae bloom extent across 85 miles of Florida Gulf Coast. Delivered daily contamination maps to state environmental agencies for public health response.
Environmental Challenge
A severe red tide bloom threatened 85 miles of Gulf Coast tourism and fishing industries. Green Service deployed multispectral drones daily to map bloom extent, concentration, and movement patterns.
Outcomes
Daily maps were shared with 12 county health departments enabling timely beach closures and fishing restrictions. The data was cited in a state legislature environmental funding report and accelerated a $4M remediation allocation.
