Overview
Annual UAV inspection of a 50-mile high-voltage transmission network using high-resolution visual + radiometric thermal imaging to detect hotspots, corrosion, hardware wear, and vegetation risk.
Scope and Objectives
Detect overheating connectors, splices, and insulators with thermal imaging. Document corrosion, damaged hardware, cracked insulators, and vegetation encroachment risks across 50 miles of HV transmission corridor.
Equipment & Findings
Used enterprise multirotor with RTK/GNSS, high-resolution RGB and radiometric thermal cameras. Identified 22 critical hotspots and 8 structural defects requiring immediate maintenance intervention.
